Malcolm Glover can be heard weekday mornings, as the local news host for Morning Edition. He produces daily news for radio newscasts, as well as in-depth radio features, and posts local news to our website. Malcolm produced the award-winning Impact of War series that explores the hardships and triumphs of U.S. Armed Forces veterans.

In 2007, Malcolm joined the KUAR news team as a reporter and later became the local news host of All Things Considered in 2008. He has worked for MTV News, MSNBC, and has traveled the world to complete humanitarian projects in the Sudan, Kenya, Israel, China, Belize and Brazil.

Malcolm appears regularly on AETN's Arkansas Week, where a group of journalists discuss issues in the news. He was recently on Arkansas Business' list of “The New Influentials: 20 In Their 20s.” Originally from Maryland, Malcolm stays very active in Arkansas by jogging and completing marathons. He is currently working on a PhD at the University of Central Arkansas.

Advocates for families affected by incarceration took part in an event at the Capitol Friday. Dee Ann Newell runs Arkansas Voices for the Children Left Behind, a nonprofit that raises awareness about the growing numbers of incarcerated mothers and the issues that affect their children.

Shorter College In North Little Rock Gets First Official Graduate In 15 Years

Over the next few weeks, colleges and universities across Arkansas will host Commencement ceremonies to celebrate the academic achievements of graduates. This Saturday, one private two-year college in North Little Rock will have its first official graduate in nearly 15 years.

Wilhelm Cedric Hawkins has a long history with Shorter College.

“My grandmother went to school here, my mother went to school here, and also my father so I figure that I could follow the family tradition,” said Hawkins, as he walks through halls of the main building on campus.

Storms, Cold Front To Bring May Chill To Arkansas

The National Weather Service in Little Rock says a strong cold front is heading for the state and is expected to bring precipitation and cold temperatures. 

The front is expected to move across the region on Thursday, but meteorologists say no severe storms are in the immediate forecast. Temperatures are forecast to drop by as much as 35 degrees behind the front on Friday.

Pryor And Boozman Review Immigration Plan

Arkansas’s senior U.S. Senator, Mark Pryor, says he still needs to review a new immigration proposal before deciding how to vote. 

The bipartisan plan crafted by eight senators includes increased border security measures and a decade-long process to grant citizenship to 12 million undocumented immigrants. Pryor says there are key goals that must be a part of any plan he could support.
