The Arkansas Department of Environmental Quality has set a meeting to present the results of a recent statewide modeling analysis for air pollutants The Aug. 20 presentation at the agency's North Little Rock office is open to the public.
The objectives of the study were to evaluate future areas of concern for ozone, fine particulate matter, sulfur dioxide and nitrogen dioxide throughout the state. The study also examined expected changes in the pollutants into the future and identified areas in Arkansas where additional air quality monitoring may be needed to ensure compliance with air quality standards.
The agency will use the results to identify areas that might require additional monitoring; possible impacts of non-attainment; air monitoring network reviews; state implementation plan development and quantification of air quality in unmonitored areas.
