The 58th Annual Delta Exhibition is opening Friday at the Arkansas Arts Center. It features contemporary works in all media by selected artists from Arkansas and bordering states.

Liz Garvey, the juror for this year’s exhibition, says it’s a high-caliber celebration of regional art.

"It’s a very competitive, highly sought after invitational show," says Garvey. "The purpose is to highlight some of the best artists who are currently working in the Delta region of our country."

The exhibit will offer four monetary prizes to featured artists as selected by Garvey and members of the Arkansas Arts Center Contemporaries.

"I was looking for innovation of materials. I was looking for work that didn’t feel derivative of other artists’ work or a previous genre in art history and, inevitably, the kind of work that just made me keep coming back to look for more," Garvey said about award-winning pieces. "I was really thrilled to find such wonderful talent."

The Delta Exhibition will be on display through August 28th. For more information, visit arkansasartscenter.org/delta.
