Arkansas Figures Honored For Preservation Work
Several Arkansas residents are being honored for their work to preserve cemetery markers.
The Association for Gravestone Studies is to present merit awards on Thursday to University of Arkansas at Little Rock Professor Johanna Miller Lewis and UA-Fayetteville Professor Kimball Erdman.
They're being honored for preserving the cemetery at the former Japanese internment camp at Rohwer in southeast Arkansas.
Carla Hines Coleman and Tamela Tenpenny-Lewis are receiving the same award for efforts to preserve African-American cemeteries.
