Arkansas Highway Commission Approves Bid For Interchanges

The Arkansas State Highway Commission has approved a $1.8 million bid for improvements to 25 interchanges on several highways in seven counties.

The commission announced Tuesday that Bettis Asphalt & Construction, Inc. of Topeka, Kansas was awarded the contract.

The interchanges included are on Highways 63 in Craighead County; 270 in Garland County; 10 in Pulaski County; and 67 in White County. Other interchanges are on Interstate 40 in Faulkner and Pulaski counties; Interstate 30 in Pulaski and Saline counties: Interstates 430 and 630 in Pulaski County; and Interstate 540 in Sebastian and Crawford counties.

The project is part of the 2011 Interstate Rehabilitation Program.

Construction is to begin in two to four weeks, weather permitting, and the work is expected to be complete this summer.
