Arkansas Highway Officials Accept Bids On Two Projects

Arkansas State Highway commissioners have accepted two bids that total nearly $3 million for road improvements in Pulaski County.

The commission met Monday in Little Rock and approved a $2.2 million bid from Redstone Construction Group, Inc. of Little Rock to widen Scott Hamilton Drive between Interstate 30 and Baseline Road in southwest Little Rock.

The commission also approved a nearly $710,000 bid from Don Stephens Trucking & Construction Co. of Little Rock to convert the intersection of West Main Street/Jacksonville Cutoff Road and Harris Road into a traffic circle in Jacksonville.

Work on both projects is expected to begin in two to four weeks - weather permitting.
