Arkansas Municipal League Conference Comes To A Close

The Arkansas Municipal League has wrapped up its 2015 winter conference. More than 1,200 participants, including many newly elected municipal officials from across the state, attended the event in Little Rock that concluded Friday. Highlights include the first appearance before the municipal group by newly inaugurated Gov. Asa Hutchinson.

Hutchinson asked municipal leaders to support legislation he will propose to create a better regulatory environment and lower taxes for the middle class. Legislative officials, including Senate Majority Leader Jim Hendren and House Majority Leader Ken Bragg, assured the league of their willingness to work with municipalities during the session.

The Arkansas Municipal League is a service and advocacy organization for the municipalities of Arkansas. The league has a voluntary membership comprised of all 500 cities and towns in the state.
