Arkansas Treasurer Dennis Milligan acknowledges making mistakes on his campaign finance reports and is agreeing to pay a $400 fine.
The Republican office-holder said Wednesday he has signed a settlement offer from the Arkansas Ethics Commission under which he will accept a letter of warning over four reporting violations. He said campaign volunteers made the errors and said they don't reflect on his trustworthiness as a public official.
The commission extended the offer to Milligan to settle a complaint filed by liberal blogger and Little Rock attorney Matt Campbell. The commission said it made four findings that Milligan improperly reported expenditures or campaign assets that were disposed of and not reported.
The commission found no probable cause in other portions of Campbell's complaint.
