Beers to 40 Years: An Anniversary Celebration
The Friends of KLRE/KUAR Board of Directors invite you to a special fundraising party to celebrate 40 years of public radio in central Arkansas. “Beers to 40 Years” is Thursday, May 30 at 6 p.m. at Boscos Restaurant & Brewing Co. in Little Rock’s River Market District. Reserve your tickets now!
For your contribution of $40, you’ll get the chance to taste eight of Boscos’ handcrafted beers and get a pint of your favorite brew. You’ll also get to enjoy some special appetizers, including flatbread bites and antipasto. You can purchase additional drinks from the bar while you visit with KLRE/KUAR staff, board members and other listeners.
“It’s just about tasting beer and spending time with other KUAR/KLRE fans,” says Leah Dalton, chair of the Friends Special Events Committee. “Like a party with 200 of your closest friends!”
“We’re so excited that Boscos has partnered with us for this event,” says Friends Board President Katherine Lu. “With some delicious beer and some tasty treats, we’re bound to have fun celebrating 40 years of public radio.”
This year marks the 40th anniversary of KLRE, Little Rock’s first public radio station. KUAR went on the air in 1986, and the two stations serve a third of the state’s population and even more people through live streaming on the internet. Check out this timeline to find out more about the history of KLRE and KUAR.
Proceeds from the "Beers to 40Years" Anniversary Celebration will support the 40th Anniversary Equipment Fund. The stations' aging audio control boards top the list of items we'd like to replace. The boards are 15 years old and beginning to fail regularly.
Boscos River Market is located at 500 President Clinton Ave. in Little Rock. Boscos’ handcrafted beers include Boscos Famous Flaming Stone Beer, Boscos Bombay IPA, Downtown Brown and Isle of Skye Scottish Ale.
Help us put the "Pub" in Public Radio on Thursday, May 30 from 6-9 p.m. and support your favorite radios stations!
