Carl Kasell Named 'North Carolinian Of The Year'

The North Carolina Press Association (NCPA) recently honored Carl Kasell as the 2013 North Carolinian of the Year recognizing his years of journalism in the Tar Heel State and throughout the country.

As part of the festivities, the NCPA composed this video tribute with highlights from his distinguished career. In the video, Kasell himself explains how he came to be a broadcaster, the true pronunciation of his last name (which you've probably never heard!) and why, in his mind, he's never actually worked a day in his life. Kasell's Wait Wait... Don't Tell Me! partner-in-crime Peter Sagal and his former intern, Katie Couric, offer some sweet words for our guy too.

Congratulations, Carl, on an honor well deserved!
