Community Forum On Ferguson Shooting To Be Held In Little Rock Tonight

The police shooting of an unarmed black teen in Ferguson, Missouri, continues to spark conversations in many communities around the nation, and that includes a forum in Little Rock tonight.

UALR will host a panel discussion featuring leaders from the city, university, and religious community.

The discussion will be moderated by Dr. Michael Twyman, the director of the Institute on Race and Ethnicity.

He says it’s time for a discussion on what the community can do to foster relations between law enforcement and area residents so that people, particularly younger African Americans, are not left feeling marginalized and disrespected.

Panelists include Little Rock City Manager Bruce Moore and Assistant Police Chief Eric Higgins.

The event is open to the public and starts tonight at 6.
