Dancing Animals Of The Opera

I suppose it’s difficult to imagine a dancing hippo, a bubble gum-blowing-elephant, an ostrich, and an alligator in relation to classical music, but, it’s true.

Amilcare Poncielli’s Dance of the Hours ballet from his 1876 opera, La Gioconda, had nothing to do with the animals.  But they were used with his music in Walt Disney’s animated movie, Fantasia.
