Education: 15th Annual Racial Attitudes Survey

The Anderson Institute on Race and Ethnicity recently released its 15th annual Racial Attitudes in Pulaski County survey. This year’s theme was “Education.” Among its findings was that 58 percent of black respondents and 49 percent of white respondents did not believe that all children have an equal chance to get a good education in Little Rock; that black respondents who strongly or somewhat agree that racial integration of schools benefits all races fell from 86 percent in 2007 to 61 percent in 2018; and that a large majority of all respondents said a locally managed rather than a state-managed school district has the best chance of improving student performance. You can find out more about the survey, and consult past surveys, on the Anderson Institute’s website at ualr.edu/race-ethnicity/.
