Excessive Force Review: Faulkner County Deputies Return To Job

Three Faulkner County deputies have returned to work after being placed on administrative leave during a review to determine if they had used excessive force during two arrests in May. But the sheriff's office fired a fourth deputy after finding he had used excessive force against one of the two suspects.

Authorities say an internal investigation of the deputies' conduct was finished this month. Sheriff Andy Shock says the three deputies had acted within the scope of the use of force policy. They returned to "full duty" on Wednesday.

Chief Deputy Sheriff Matt Rice said Thursday that the office is still working with federal authorities to determine whether any actions rose to the level of a federal civil-rights violation.
