Man Arrested After Shootout With Arkansas State Police

Arkansas State Police

Arkansas State Police say a Bentonville man has been arrested following a chase and shootout with troopers and a Madison County sheriff's deputy.

Police say there were no injuries.

State police say the chase began Wednesday night when troopers tried to stop the driver of a sport utility vehicle who had reportedly shot at a passing motorist and was driving recklessly near Green Forest. The driver initially fled, but eventually stopped near Dryfork in Carroll County and opened fire on troopers and the deputy who arrived from neighboring Madison County to provide assistance.

State police say the 36-year-old man was arrested and is being held in the Carroll County Jail pending formal charges.
