Officials with the U.S. Marshals Museum have increased the budget to market new commemorative coins designed to raise money for the facility in Fort Smith.

The museum's finance committee voted Tuesday to increase the coin budget from $35,000 to $112,400. The three commemorative coins from the U.S. Mint are set to go on sale next year.

The Southwest Times Record reports that the increased budget will provide more money for advertising and promotion of the coins. The three coins mark the 225th anniversary of the U.S. Marshals Service.

The U.S. Mint will offer a $5 gold coin, a $1 silver coin and a half-dollar clad coin.

Crews broke ground last month on the $50 million museum, which is expected to open in 2017.
