Voters have legalized alcohol sales in the Park Hill neighborhood in North Little Rock.
The measure passed in a special election Tuesday in six precincts that had approved a ban on alcohol sales in 1966.
The change allows the sale of alcohol by the drink in restaurants and the sale of beer and wine in gas stations.
The proposition does not permit liquor stores in the neighborhood, which is located along John F. Kennedy Boulevard in North Little Rock.
Backers of the measure say it will lead to more economic development in the area.
