Lawyers for the Pulaski County Special School District say it doesn't support any more school districts being carved out of its boundaries.
The lawyers filed a response in federal court Wednesday to a request for an expedited hearing in a decades-old desegregation lawsuit.
A lawyer for the parents who brought the lawsuit asked for the July 20 hearing to address the new Jacksonville School District's board elections, requirements of the desegregation ruling and whether more districts would separate from the Pulaski County district.
The Jacksonville district was approved by voters last year, but won't separate from Pulaski County until June 2016.
PCSSD lawyers say it has no role in Jacksonville's elections or desegregation plan, but said the district has opposed additional new districts forming from its boundaries.
