We’re all familiar with Mark Twain and his two boys, Tom Sawyer and Huckleberry Finn, and of course know that his real name was Samuel Clemens.
A musical connection? Clemens had a daughter, Clara, who was a concert singer.
She married twice: to the conductor of the Detroit Symphony, and second, to the conductor of the Washington National Opera.
