The University of Arkansas at Little Rock says enrollment is up for the first time in three years. The 11th day count is 11,848 students, according to the university. That reflects a 1.2 percent uptick in total enrollment and 19 percent increase in first-time college students. The total enrollment figure also includes 1,493 "concurrent" students who are high school students enrolled in college courses.

KUAR's Chris Hickey recently talked with some UALR administrators about the new figures.
