The National Weather Service says October will likely be one of the warmest in recent years in Arkansas, although the end of the month is forecast to become cooler. A cold front is expected to move through the state on Tuesday and put an end to unseasonably warm temperatures throughout much of the state.
During the weekend, many areas reported temperatures in the mid to upper 80s - well above the typical readings of the upper 60s to mid-70s. The National Weather Service in North Little Rock says this October will likely end up being the warmest since 2007.
Stormy weather is expected Tuesday and temperatures will drop to more typical levels and in the Little Rock area, lows could dip into the 40s during the weekend.
