Police in Jonesboro say a woman fought off an attempt to kidnap her in a mall parking lot and that a suspect has been arrested.
Sgt. Lyle Waterworth told reporters that the 29-year-old woman was returning to her car behind the mall on Thursday when a man grabbed her and tried to force her into a van. Waterworth says the woman broke free from the man and ran - but he caught her before she was able to escape a second time and run back into The Mall at Turtle Creek.
Waterworth says the woman was able to describe both her attacker and the van. He says a suspect driving a van matching the woman's description was arrested a short time later.
