Arkansas' highest court has upheld a $122.5 million civil judgment against a former doctor who was convicted of severely injuring the state medical board's chairman in a 2009 bombing.

The Arkansas Supreme Court on Thursday rejected Randeep Mann's argument that a judge should have allowed him to prove he wasn't responsible for the explosion. The justices upheld a lower court's 2013 summary judgment that Dr. Trent Pierce was entitled to damages from Mann in the bombing.

Should the seven justices on the Arkansas Supreme Court be elected? That’s been a central question of the Arkansas Bar Association’s 81-member House of Delegates for much of this year. The group, made of lawyers from around the state, will meet in December to decide on approving a proposed constitutional amendment drafted by a Bar Association task force that would create an appointment system for the justices.

An Arkansas Supreme Court justice says she won't recuse from hearing an appeal related to a wrongful-death lawsuit against a nursing home owner who donated thousands of dollars to her campaign two years ago.

Justice Rhonda Wood on Thursday denied the motion asking that she not hear Michael Morton's appeal of a state judge's order granting class-action status in Andrew Phillips' lawsuit against Morton and Robinson Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in North Little Rock. The Arkansas Supreme Court says it won't reconsider its decision to disqualify a medical marijuana proposal from the ballot after thousands of votes had already been cast for next week's election.

The Arkansas Supreme Court has rejected one of two efforts to block a medical marijuana proposal from the November ballot.

The campaign behind an effort to legalize casinos in three Arkansas counties is asking the state's highest court to dismiss a lawsuit trying to block votes for the ballot measure.

Arkansas Wins in 2016 asked the state Supreme Court on Monday to dismiss the lawsuit by opponents that claims the ballot measure is misleading and that supporters didn't follow the law for reporting paid canvassers. The lawsuit asks the court to block election officials from counting any votes for the measure in the November election.
