Arkansas highway officials say three road projects set for 2015 won't go out for bids next month amid questions about federal funding.
The Arkansas Highway and Transportation Department said Tuesday $30 million worth of projects in Lee and Phillips counties, Crawford County and Franklin County won't be on the Jan. 27 bid list.
The department relies on federal funds for some projects, but the Federal Highway Trust Fund could run out of money next July. Without assurances that money will be available, Arkansas is postponing work. Last fiscal year, Arkansas delayed projects worth $70 million.
The projects at issue this year are:
- Widening Arkansas 1 in Lee and Phillips counties
- Paving a gravel portion of Arkansas 220 in Crawford County
- Replacing the Cedar Creek Bridge on Franklin County Road 72
