Arkansas lawmakers enacted tax, prison and education reforms but didn't finish work on other lingering issues.

The regular session ended Thursday and legislators, lobbyists and political appointees are already considering further changes to various laws. The future of highway and transportation funding, the state's compromise Medicaid expansion and a handful of social issues were left unfinished at the end of the session.

Some of the topics will be addressed by task forces filled by appointees of Republican Gov. Asa Hutchinson. A spokesman for the governor says the groups are useful tools to take on complex issues that weren't resolved during the session.
