A proposal that would end dry counties in Arkansas has been approved for inclusion on the November ballot.
The secretary of state's office said Friday that backers surpassed the 78,133 signatures needed to put the proposed constitutional amendment before voters.
The measure would legalize statewide alcohol sales. It would also make it legal across the state to manufacture and transport alcoholic beverages.
At present, 37 of Arkansas' 75 counties are dry.
