Officials at the American Cancer Society's Cancer Action Network say a staffer at the Arkansas Treasurer's office inappropriately used the nonprofit's equipment while he was an employee also volunteering on Treasurer Dennis Milligan's campaign.

Nonprofit spokesman Ray Carson says in an email Friday the 501(c)(4) group had finished its investigation into campaign emails sent by Jason Brady, now the treasurer's deputy chief of staff, using his email address at the nonprofit.

The statement from Carson says the nonprofit's property was misused, likely intentionally, and against its internal policy of banning personal political campaigning.

Both Milligan and Brady donated to the nonprofit after the emails surfaced, but Carson says those donations were returned because of the investigation. A treasurer's office spokesman said there was no official comment on the non-governmental matter.
