Three candidates for a U.S. House seat in southern Arkansas differ on how to address an Ebola threat. They met Tuesday for a debate on the Arkansas Educational Television Network.
Republican Bruce Westerman said he would ask the Obama administration "tough questions" to ensure it took steps to protect the country. Libertarian Ken Hamilton said he would want the government to ensure health care workers follow appropriate protocols and Democrat James Lee Witt said he would want to make sure the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention have what is needed to halt the virus.
Westerman and Witt differed with Hamilton on the legalization of marijuana, even for medical uses. They opposed it in all forms; Hamilton said pot could be used properly, saying "God created the marijuana plant."
