Centers For Children In Jonesboro Gets $1 Million Gift

The Centers for Children at Jonesboro has received a $1 million gift aimed at expanding the access of specialized pediatric health care to families in northeast Arkansas.

Centers for Children is a collaboration between Arkansas Children's Hospital and the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences' Department of Pediatrics.

There are now seven different specialty clinics in Jonesboro, including neurology, cardiology, surgery and urology.

On Tuesday, the Judd Hill Foundation announced its $1 million gift. Foundation trustee Mike Gibson says the foundation is pleased to support an effort that makes preventative care more accessible for children.

The gift from the Judd Hill Foundation honors the legacy of Esther Chapin, who started the foundation in 1985.

Chapin owned the Judd Hill Plantation in Poinsett County until her death in 1991.
