City Leaders Inaugurated

Arkansas Times

Little Rock Mayor Mark Stodola is making New Year’s plans for his next term. The mayor, along with city directors, was inaugurated Wednesday for 2015.

He said his priorities include improving transparency and digital communication, youth programs and educating around the city’s ramped-up recycling program that launches this year.

"I certainly want to do everything I can to make sure we have efficient delivery of services to our citizens and that we do everything we can to keep them safe and create opportunities for prosperity,” he said.

Stodola added that one goal for 2015 is encouraging kindness between residents.

"We need to respect people and we need to understand that civility is very important and the unnecessary fighting that occurs, whether it be on the streets of the city or whether it is in the halls of Washington, is not a very good way to resolve our problems," he added.

Mayor Stodola is in his 3rd term, he started as mayor in 2007.  City directors Erma Hendrix, Ken Richardson, Kathy Webb, Lance Hines, Doris Wright and BJ Wyrick were also inaugurated Wednesday.
