Funeral Set For Hot Springs City Manager Who Died After Fall

David Watkins

A memorial service is set for Friday for the city manager of Hot Springs, who died this week after a fall at his home.

David Watkins died Monday at a Little Rock hospital. City officials say he was injured in an accidental fall at his home on Saturday. He was 61.

The city says Watkins' funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at First United Methodist Church in downtown Hot Springs. City Hall will be closed so employees can attend the service, and officials say city and state flags at city buildings will fly at half-staff on Friday in honor of Watkins.

The Hot Springs Board of Directors has named Deputy City Manager Bill Burrough as interim city manager.
