NPR One, an audio experience that connects you to a stream of public radio news, stories and podcasts curated for you, is now available on Apple's CarPlay. Listen to international, national and local news from your NPR member station in the vehicles that have support for CarPlay as part of the in-dash entertainment system, or with CarPlay-enabled aftermarket systems.
With NPR One in your car, you can tap on 'Catch Up' to get started with your National and Local newscast followed by your recommended stories; Or simply tap on 'Recommendations' to scroll through a curated list of stories and podcast episodes just for you.
For those longer drives let NPR One be your companion with engaging and in-depth storytelling by tapping on 'Featured Shows' to see a list of shows and podcasts to select from. Try some of our favorites such as NPR's Hidden Brain, WNYC's Radiolab, and PRX's The Moth Radio Hour. And while you are listening to these shows, open the extended menu on the CarPlay interface to follow that show in NPR One and hear the latest episodes when they become available. You can also view the latest episode from your followed shows by tapping 'Followed.'
Support for Siri is also available with NPR One on CarPlay. Use Siri to 'Launch NPR One', 'Skip track', 'Play', 'Pause', and to ask 'What's playing.'
And when you need to step out of your car and want to continue listening to NPR One, just launch the app on your phone and press 'Play', or swipe over to the left into 'Explore' to find something new.
NPR One is also available on Google's Android Auto in-dash entertainment system. Vehicles equipped with Android Auto can launch into NPR One by simply connecting their Android device to their car. Use Voice Actions on Android to launch into NPR in the car with, 'Ok Google, Listen to NPR.'
