Officials Investigating After 2-year-Old Found Dead In Car

Authorities continue to investigate the cause of death for a 2-year-old found dead in a car in Hot Springs.

Jeff Saunders, a shift commander with the Hot Springs Fire Department, says the department and EMS workers responded to a call around 3:20 p.m. Friday concerning a dead child in a vehicle in a residential neighborhood. Saunders says the manner of death may not be known until Monday.

TV station KTHV reported that when firemen arrived, police and ambulances were already on the scene.

Cpl. McCrary Means tells the station the child's body will be sent to the State Crime Lab to determine the cause of death.

No further details were immediately available and Means didn't immediately return a message Saturday from The Associated Press seeking further details on the investigation.
