Police Say Man Posed As Officer To Lure Kids Into Car

Arkansas police have arrested a man they say tried to coax children into his car by claiming to be a police officer.

The Jonesboro Sun reports 18-year-old Landon Shawn Morris has been charged with attempted kidnapping, attempted rape and criminal impersonation.

Court documents indicate city police responded July 22 to two reports of Morris asking children to get into his red Pontiac Grand Am.

Police say that Morris admitted during an interview to contacting the children and posing as a police officer. Morris tells police he was attracted to the kids.

Online jail records didn't list an attorney for Morris.
